| EOL2020
was designed by the wind industry to meet two fundamental
requirements in wind measurement:
MAXIMIZE
DATA AVAILABILITY
MINIMIZE THE NEED
FOR USER INTERVENTION
Nowadays, the critical importance
of obtaining high quality measurements is well known.
To maximize data availability, it is essential to benefit
from a remote connection to the stations,
which also makes significant savings in operation costs.
Using adequate instrumentation
improves the results obtained in Wind Audits
and facilitates the negotiation to get “PROJECT
FINANCE” for a wind project.
EOL2020 is
highly appreciated by customers and wind auditors all
over the world, and it has been approved
by an ENAC Calibration Laboratory.
It is used by universities and scientific organisations
within Spain and worldwide.
There are currently thousands
of units in operation in 17 different countries; including
Spain, Germany, Morocco, The Dominican Republic, Portugal,
Chile, Venezuela, USA, France, Italy, Tunisia, Australia,
China, Poland, Brazil, Mexico, and Kenya.
The data-logger was designed
from beginning to end with the aim of improving wind
analysis for any wind farm developer. Making it easier
in two ways:
-Determining energy production
and potential benefits at a potential site.
-"Micrositing"
optimisation, to find the best position for each turbine
in a planned wind farm.
-Checking the power output of
the wind turbines on a wind farm.
The data-logger has been designed
in collaboration with the Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse,
France) and the University of Zaragoza (Spain). It meets
the requirements of international standards IEA,
IEC, AWEA, WMO. For calculations and operability,
various studies have been carried out by the Spanish
energy-research bodies; CIEMAT, IDAE and CIRCE. The
hardware design meets CE-mark requirements.
As the wind data are supplied
in various standard formats and the whole system is
very user friendly, it is easy to migrate
to the EOL2020 system from other systems.
Channel configuration is versatile
and capable of monitoring various types of sensor currently
available.
Due to the constant advances
in the design and integration of new microchips, the
circuit board incorporates the latest components, increasing
the features and improving reliability.
